For residents of the City of Beaverton, I wanted to pass along a new and exciting cooperative effort by the City of Beaverton and SolarCity, just announced by Mayor Doyle on May 19th.

This joint effort is expected to provide about 50 Beaverton home owners an 80 percent discount on the cost of a solar system via federal and state tax credits and incentives from the Energy Trust of Oregon.  The SolarBeaverton pilot program will determine what the City of Beaverton anticipates to become a broader citywide solar program in 2011.
